This table hails from an estate north of New Orleans which housed a very large collection from their life in … Read more This table hails from an estate north of New Orleans which housed a very large collection from their life in the Orient. This table has a base that is made of rattan and wicker and is probably from the mid 20th century. We are told that the brass tray top is older. The tray top is finely etched with flora and fauna and is patinated. We chose not to polish in order to retain proof of age. It could be professionally polished if desired.
The base is woven wicker at the top and the rattan bottom forms a shelf for books or accessories.
This is such a nice piece for a garden room or a setting with a chinoiserie theme.
The tray is removable and has a hanger on the back for use as wall decor. It is Moroccan in style but marked "made in Hong Kong" on the underside. The table is not marked.
The tray is 28' wide. The table base measures 25" wide.
