Aside from the fact that new shock mounts are needed, this chair is in very good overall condition. The fiberglass shell has none of the chipping around the edges that is oftentimes found, and the entire front and back are damage free with relatively little wear present. There is some discoloration on the seat portion that may or may not be removable; otherwise, all is fine. The metal base looks excellent from all angles, as it is virtually free of blemishes. The chrome sparkles from top to bottom with no corrosion or scratches to be found. The rockers are both very good. There is no cracking or warping of the wood, and there is little wear. The screw-bolts are possibly newer, as they look almost new. Please see the pictures for further details.
Google had this to say about the shock mounts: "Herman Miller Eames rocking chairs (model RAR) use shock mounts to connect the base to the fiberglass or plastic shell, and replacement kits are readily available for these parts due to common failure over time."
