Stunning mid century modern sommerso art glass vase designed by the pioneer of Swedish glass art Vicke Lindstrand and made by Kosta (Sweden, 1960s). This beautiful vase is made of thick green, yellow and blue glass surrounded by transparent glass. It is extremely decorative. Height: 7.9''; width: 4.3''; depth: 2.7''. Quite heavy (1,8 kg). Very good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks. Light wear consistent with age and use, scratches.
"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a transparent layer.
