Mirror, Mirror, on our wall… we already know that ANYTHING Milo Baughman designs for Thayer Coggin is the FINEST of them ALL!!!!! And… Here we are!!! It bears a spectacular and rather unique superellipse or Lamé shape or, in plain language, rectangular brass frame with rounded edges. But, in case you are in question… a Lamé or superellipse shape describes a shape intermediate between a rectangle and an oval, but a broader, closed curve resembling the ellipse. Anyway, this wonderful wall mirror exudes a gorgeous Modern presence that will marvelously mingle with almost any decor. It would be fabulous on the wall in your dressing area, over an accent table in a hall, above a buffet or credenza in a family room, over a pedestal sink or vanity in your bathroom, on the wall behind your bed, or any wall that needs dimension and timeless style! Take a moment to “reflect” if you must… but we can tell you that the decision is easy, and this mirror is EXACTLY what the most ELITE designer ordered!!!
One of the most remarkable partnerships in the mid-century modern to modern design world was the phenomenal furniture making duo of Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin. Milo Baughman, a 20th Century genius of design, was born in Western Kansas in 1923 but was moved a year later by his family to Long Beach, California. He created Milo Baughman Design Inc. in 1947 and began designing interiors and furniture. Thayer Coggin was born in 1922 in Denton, North Carolina. Twelve years later his family moved 25 miles north to High Point where he grew up surrounded by furniture manufacturing. Thayer’s first love was furniture and Milo’s was design. So, together in 1953, after the two met, history was made in American furniture making by one of the greatest collaborations in the industry. During his career and before his death in 2003, Milo did design for several other companies as well as his own, but it is his collaboration with Thayer Coggin that is most impressive and sought-after today. Thayer Coggin, Inc. is still in business today even after its namesake’s death and is still offering classic selections from the late Baughman’s designs.
There are plenty of mirrors out there just awaiting your attention but SERIOUSLY… if you want an actual piece of Modern MAGNIFICENCE hanging on a wall in YOUR home… the choice is EASY. Make this marvelous brass framed mirror designed & manufactured by the infamous duo of Milo Baughman & Thayer Coggin… YOURS!!!!!
