The composition reflects classical Neoclassical influences, balanced by the warmth and ornament characteristic of Italian craftsmanship.

The surface retains its original water-gilded finish over gesso, now beautifully aged with a rich, softly burnished patina and scattered areas of wear that reveal the underlying bole, lending depth and authenticity. The inner edge is bordered by a stepped molded slip with darker patination, providing contrast and visual definition to the mirror plate.

The mirror glass appears to be later but appropriate, as is common for mirrors of this period. The reverse shows period plank construction, visible joinery, and old nail holes, with later hanging hardware added for secure installation. See less
