The joints are pegged mortise and tenon, and you can see the wooden pegs at the legs and in the top. The apron is hand carved with a row of fluted panels on the front and sides. Four baluster turned legs rise from square blocks, and low box stretchers tie them together. The plank top has a molded edge. The oak has a rich, warm brown patina from years of use. At 21 inches high, it works as a side table, a plant stand, a bedside table, or extra seating by the fire.
