Each candlestick is carved from wood and raised on a triangular base with boldly modeled acanthus leaves over three scrolling feet, reflecting the Baroque-inspired decorative vocabulary favored in mid-century Italian ecclesiastical and decorative furnishings.
The tall, baluster-form stems are richly detailed and retain their original polychrome silvered finish, now beautifully time-softened with gentle variations that enhance depth and surface character. The sculptural bases provide excellent visual weight and stability, while the vertical proportions lend the pair a strong architectural presence.
