Original and wonderfully vintage, this large majolica earthenware platter features a trompe-l'oeil decoration of a lobster, mollusks, and shells on a sandy background. The colors are vibrant and the subject is very realistic. Circa 1950. Probably from Vallauris. The two antennae are missing. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
