A mid-century painting presents a quiet street rendered through a modernist lens, where architectural forms unfold along a gently receding road, and executed in oil onto board.

Arched doorways, small staircases, and balcony details hint at a southern European setting, while stylised trees punctuate the scene with a sense of warmth and calm. The composition draws the eye inward, inviting the viewer to wander through this tranquil, almost dreamlike streetscape.

This structured work shows clear Cubist and geometric abstract influences, particularly in the faceted treatment of buildings and ground planes. Forms are broken into angular segments and overlapping geometric shapes, flattening perspective while simultaneously creating depth.
