A brilliantly executed mid century street scene that captures a pared-back urban landscape viewed through a distinctly modernist lens, painted in oil onto canvas by Swedish artist Kurt Lindon (1910-1985), whose works can be found in the collections at the Stockholm City Museum, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Museum, Linköping Museum, Östersund Museum, Norrköping Art Museum, and the Borås Art Museum

Low-rise buildings and taller rectangular forms are arranged in a calm, horizontal rhythm, punctuated by a slender vertical tower that anchors the composition. Sparse trees and simplified street elements suggest human presence without overt narrative, lending the scene a quiet, contemplative mood.

Executed in a restrained modernist style, the painting favours structure and balance over detail. Architectural forms are reduced to blocks of colour, with an emphasis on proportion, negative space, and the interplay between verticals and horizontals.
