A 19th-century french inkwell in gilded brass, designed in the napoleon iii style with rococo influence. The piece showcases flowing curves, ornate foliate scrolls, and a shell-like form typical of the revivalist taste of the second empire.
at the center, a domed ink holder rises from a beautifully cast tray with three compartments, all united by sinuous lines and rich detailing. The surface displays natural wear and aging to the gilt, giving the piece an antique patina.
