Hand-painted Italian maiolica platter crafted in Caltagirone, Sicily, a region internationally renowned for its ceramic tradition. This octagonal platter showcases classic Sicilian design elements, including scrolling foliate motifs, floral medallions, and a central rosette rendered in cobalt blue, teal, and ochre yellow.
The underside bears a handwritten “Cataldo Caltagirone” signature, consistent with studio-made, late 20th-century Italian art pottery. The painterly detail and subtle glaze variations reflect authentic handmade craftsmanship.
