This charming zoomorphic ceramic piece from the 1960s is a Danish creation by ceramist Joseph Simeon for Søholm. The bird is made of stoneware, has a plump appearance, and is very finely glazed in natural earth tones. The subtle variations create the illusion of plumage. It is touching, lifelike, and very poetic.
The glazed stoneware bird is superb and in perfect condition. It is signed Simon on the underside, as well as Søholm. It is a very beautiful piece of Danish ceramic.
11cm x 14cm, 10.5cm high.
