Early 20th century American mahogany mirror in the Federal Revival taste, featuring a scrolled broken pediment centered by a finely cast gilt eagle with outstretched wings, flanked by subtle sunflower rosettes. The proportions are deliberately restrained, reflecting the Colonial Revival era’s admiration for early American forms without the heaviness of true 18th-century examples. The warm mahogany surface shows a soft, aged patina, and the original gilded elements retain a muted, time-worn finish rather than high polish.
Well suited for an entry hall, powder room, library, or above a chest where a touch of American architectural character is desired without overpowering the space. Circa 1900–1920.
