This 1960s set of six French oyster plates by Sarreguemines feels straight out of a long lunch on the coast—linen tablecloth, chilled Muscadet, oysters disappearing faster than planned. Each plate is classically molded with five shell-shaped wells and a central sauce reservoir, purpose-built for oysters on the half shell, lemon wedges, and a proper mignonette. Finished in a crisp white glaze, the sculptural shell relief catches the light beautifully, giving these plates just enough drama without competing with what’s being served—the kind of plates that assume you know how to shuck an oyster and open champagne without asking for help.
