300 year old chair with a mid-Century makeover!
This style of armchair, often called French Provincial or Rococo Revival, is known for its elegant, curvilinear forms and intricate details.
The carved wood frame with its flowing lines and decorative motifs is a hallmark of the Rococo style, which originated in 18th-century France. These chairs often feature cabriole legs (curved, outward-splaying legs ending in a decorative foot) and ornate carving on the arms, back, and apron.
The "Revival" part means it's a piece from a later era (often 19th or early 20th century) that draws inspiration from the original 18th-century designs. The combination of that rich, dark wood and the vibrant, modern upholstery creates a really unique and fun loving experience.
Was in the family for many generations and for a good reason. So comfortable and a low profile makes this chair perfect for the vertically challenged, but large enough for all the rest! Boho your eclectic self!
