Born in Moscow in the late 19th century, having a concealed hinged lid with engraved Troika (figure on cart pulled by three horses side by side), exterior finished on all sides and engraved with circular medallion surrounded by elaborate scroll motif. circa 1878; Russia

Well marked, with identifying marks to the interior and top backside reading:

'84' zolotnik silver standard mark, silver fineness.

Symbol of St. George on horseback slaying the dragon, indicating Moscow town mark.

Assayer's mark 'AK' over year date, these initials will stand for the first and last names of the artist (likely Antip Kuzmichev). Signed maker's mark 'CK' cyrillics (likely Stepan Levin)
