It sets on an antiqued gold base with elaborate carvings, adding a touch of elegance and visual weight. The ornate base and frosted glass shade suggests a design influence from Art Nouveau or Victorian era, often manufactured in the 1970’s or later as inspired pieces. This lamp will add a beautiful accent piece whether on or off. It works perfectly and has an in-line switch on the cord offering convenient operation without needing to reach for a switch on the lamps base itself.
