A set of 4, possibly, French Baccarat Port glasses. Each one likely made from mouth blown crystal. Each has 12 facet cuts around the side. They have a nice shine and sound.
Each glass bears a beautiful Tulip shape and with 12 cut oblong facets which are referred to as "Cotes-Creuses".
The chalice is mounted on a teardrop shaped stem and at the bottom of the foot of each glass you can see the cutoff of the blowpipe.
Our research indicates that these glasses are from the "Tulip" series.
We believe they are completely handmade and thus each of the 4 are slightly different in size and weight.
Each of the 4 bears small traces of glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections.
Based on our research these imperfections are normal for handmade antique glassware. We date these to before 1850. Baccarat did not start labeling its glasses until much later.
Acquired from a collector of French antiques.
