Made in 1910, on the eve of turbulent times, this octagonal Renaissance Revival table is solidly supported by four strong mustachioed Musketeer figures carved in solid oak--just as the original three supremely skilled swordsmen (plus D’Artagnan, of course) supported the story’s French monarchy. You’ve got to love the feathered chapeaux. The musketeer legs are connected—irrevocably, as in the story—by a carved, central cross-stretcher base, underscoring stability and support.
