The Pictures doesn't do this justice as to how beautiful this carving really is. It is much nicer in person. The wood is evidently Ebony as it is very dense and heavy. From a distance the wood looks black, but upon closer inspection you can see that it is a very dark brown. The opening in the embrace is in the shape of a heart and the symmetry of the piece is flowing as can be seen in how the dress seems to be blowing in the wind. This is truly a beautiful and romantic piece that would certainly add spice to just about any decor. Measures 14" tall x 5-1/5" at the widest point, which is from the point of the dress to the edge of the base. The base itself is 4" across, and as was mentioned this is a very dense and heavy piece of wood. See less
