This silverplate tankard is formed in a straight sided cylindrical shape with a flared foot, a curved handle, and an engraved cartouche on the front with an ornate monogram. It is marked on the underside G R Collis & Co, identifying it as the work of George Richmond Collis, active in Birmingham, England during the mid to late nineteenth century.
It measures approximately 5.5 inches tall, 4 inches in diameter, and 5.25 inches deep including the handle.
It is in very good antique condition, with age appropriate wear throughout including obvious areas of silverplate loss, surface scratching, and oxidation from use and age. Please see all photographs and consider them as part of the description.
