Early 20th Century French handmade violin with a stand to display on. Beautiful coloring real adjustable strings.
Early 20th century decorative violin-shaped piece with a matching stand, painted with floral motifs.
On the back is a makers mark “Geo Martel" refers to a French faience (earthenware) . This manufacturer is known for producing decorative ceramics in the Quimper and Desvres styles. which often feature polychrome floral designs.
Maker: Geo Martel was a prominent producer of faience pottery in France, operating in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The bottom of the violin and on the stand is handsigned French markings "Decor Strasbourg Fait main (translated to Handmade) .
Maked The handmade violin measures about 7” x 3.5” x 19”.
The stand alone measures 4”x5” x7”.
When violin is displayed on stand it measures 18” wide x 5” deep and 14” tall.
