Outstanding writing desk with two drawers, solid brass gallery & matched grain inlaid veneer top. Top shelf quality, this has Althrop medallion in a drawer, TA sticker remains on the bottom. Believe this is from the Living History line from Theodore Alexander.
Technically this is new old stock, a showroom model. Never sold, never been in a home. Rare find that remains in very good-excellent shape, no chips, no cracks. Smooth, clean appearance, a few minor imperfections, small scratches only. The top is very good, however in full or harsh light and at the right angle there are some mild surface marks, faint scratches. Finish rubs if you will but not really into the finish itself. In normal lighting they are virtually nonexistent. Shown in close up is one tiny little pin size spot. Two very small edge knicks on the bottom of the apron on one end, the legs show some mild edge bruising and light scratches in a few spots. Brass has just the lightest of tarnishing in a few spots but quite clean, free of bends or dents, smooth edges. Everything is tight, drawers slide easily, etc. No damage, no repairs. Did notice the front feet have felt slides while the back has adjustable plastic slides.
Please study the many photos, and send any questions you might have.
46" wide, 24" deep. Top is 30" tall, gallery about 30.75" high. Clearance under the desk is 25".
