Meissen service, consisting of 25 pieces: 1 mocha pot with lid, 1 milk jug, 1 lidded sugar bowl, 1 small bowl, 1 tea caddy, 1 bottle for rose essence, 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 dessert plates and 1 round serving platter. Form: no 2394, designed by ludwig zepner (1931 – 2010), porcelain artist, designer, inventor decor: no 680710, 'arabian nights' with figure painting, designed by prof. Heinz werner (1928 – 2019), painter, graphic artist and porcelain artist, figure painting with motifs from the arabian nights, rich gold decoration. Dimensions: 1 mocha pot + lid: h = 20,5 cm / 8.07 in 1 milk jug: h = 7,0 cm / 2.75 in 1 lidded sugar bowl: h = 11,5 cm / 4.52 in 1 small bowl: h = 5,5 cm / 2.16 in 1 tea caddy: h = 9,5 cm / 3.74 in 1 small bottle: h = 9,0 cm / 3.54 in 6 cups: h = 7,0 cm / 2.75 in 6 saucers: ø = 11,0 cm / 4.33 in 6 dessert plates: ø = 17,0 cm / 6.69 in 1 large round plate: ø = 30,0 cm / 11.81 in on the design: during his more than 50 years of work for the meissen manufactory, the internationally renowned porcelain painter prof. Heinz werner (1928–2019) created an extensive oeuvre comprising numerous paintings and over a hundred designs. When the first ideas for 'arabian nights' took shape in 1966, he could not have imagined that it would become one of his most successful designs. Werner's oriental fairy-tale world is characterised by its subtle cheerfulness and lightness.
