Set of three authentic 19th-century botanical chromolithographs sourced from the prestigious Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l'Europe, founded by the famed Belgian horticulturist Louis van Houtte. Louis van Houtte was also the royal gardener to King Leopold I of Belgium. These prints represent the pinnacle of Victorian botanical illustration.
Each piece captures a rare specimen with the vibrant color and scientific precision characteristic of the chromolithography process. The set includes: Caragana Jubata, Orothamnus Zeyheri and Podocarpus Neriifolia.
Distressed gold-gilt wood frames featuring a classic beaded inner lip and professionally matted with a neutral cream archival mat under glass accented by a subtle green inner border that pulls the natural tones from the illustrations.
