Antique floor-standing candlestand or torchere dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Executed in hand-forged wrought iron, consistent with Gothic Revival or Renaissance Revival influences popular during this period. Likely produced in Europe or the United States by a blacksmith or small workshop.
The form features a tripod base with three arched, scrolling legs terminating in flat pad feet. A tall central shaft includes stacked ring-form details spaced along its height. The top consists of a wide circular candle plate intended for a large pillar candle. Finished in a dark, blackened iron tone with age-appropriate patina. Variations in surface texture reflect hand-forged construction.
