Crackle-glazed ceramic box with a stylized decoration depicting a woman holding a parasol. The figure's dress is decorated in green with flowers and scrolls, the parasol's green highlights emphasizing the woman's profile. The base is signed Cazaux. Edouard Cazaux (1889-1974) was a French sculptor and ceramicist from a family of potters in the southwest who established his workshop in La Varenne Saint Hilaire in 1918.
