A great space age fiberglass look with the upholstery and cushions sharing similar structure and lines to the Warren Platner easy chair however sitting cradled in a fiberglass shell reminiscent of Michel Cadestin’s Karate chair or Joe Colombo’s Elda chair. This chair never made it to production and sat in the prototype upholstery room at Knoll in Greenville Pa. until somehow leaving and ending up in a reseller’s shop in Richmond, Virginia.

Pictured in an archival photo of the prototype upholstery room, which is attached. Richard Schultz is pictured in the dark sweater. Confirmation of the chairs origin were detailed by a former knoll employee: ”That chair and ottoman, as far as I know, is a one of a kind. Was sitting in the prototype upholstery room when I worked there. I was let go in '87. Have no idea what happened to it after that.”

Chair: 33.75” High 34” Wide 15” Seat Height 36” Deep
Ottoman: 29.5” Wide 25” Deep 14” High

Condition: Scuffs to the fiberglass shell. Original upholstery. Foam is hardened and crumbling at the front edge of the chair. Unravelling upholstery on the ottoman. Frames sit loose and are unattached to the shells. Stains and moderate soiling, mostly in the headrest area of the chair.
