It is American … Read more This is a Maddox Chippendale Mahogany Secretary Desk that was made in Jamestown, New York around 1950. It is American craftsmanship at its best. Built of solid American mahogany, it still has the original finish, original glass, and the original key. The most special part about this piece to my wife and I is what we discovered behind one of the secret drawers when we first got it home. We found the original receipts dated November 1950 when the original owner purchased it from J.C. Penny, as well as several other notes and receipts. Whether you're a collector or just love vintage furniture, whoever ends up with this secretary is getting a really special piece of history. Message me with any questions or for additional pictures.
