A charming vintage petit point needlework landscape, believed to date to the mid-20th century, depicting a quaint country cottage surrounded by trees, a picket fence, and a winding rural path.
Worked in exceptionally fine, closely spaced stitches, the detailed countryside scene is rendered entirely in warm sepia tones, creating a nostalgic quality reminiscent of an antique photograph.
The needlework is surrounded by a golden-yellow velvet-like fabric border and beautifully presented in a substantial, deeply molded gilt wood frame. Decorative relief along the outer border and intricate inner molding add richness and dimension, while the soft fabric mat provides a lovely contrast to the detailed needlework.
Petite in scale yet full of character, this delightful piece has a wonderful presence and elegance. Its rich textures and timeless charm make it a beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork.
