A most charming late Federal period figured mahogany work table, finished in refined Sheraton taste, dating to early/mid 19th century, originating on the central east-coast region of the United States, possibly Philadelphia, circa 1830
Add a touch of refined elegance, sophistication, and rich historical interest with this original early American sewing stand worktable, showcasing high-quality handcrafted workmanship and materials, finished on all sides so it can be placed anywhere in the room, featuring a rectangular top flanked by a pair of drop leaf extensions used to extend the tabletop work surface, each side flap held aloft by quality hand carved wooden hinge supports built-into the solid wood case, fitted with two flame mahogany veneered convex curved drawer-fronts that create a visually striking focal point, enhanced with later polished brass pulls, each bowed drawer highlights fine hand cut dovetail joinery, the upper retaining the divided compartment interior, raised on four long straight tapering turned legs.

Overall a truly wonderful example of early American furniture, in great antique condition, especially considering its nearly 200 years old, with nicely aged patina, sophisticated antique character marks, charm, warmth, and rich historical depth that can only be acquired over very long periods of time!
Great shape, presents well, attractive appearance with warm mellow patina and lustrous sheen. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound, with minimal wear commensurate with age and use, including mildly worn finish and tonal variations, loss to upper escutcheon, fading, light scattered nicks, abrasions, typical authentic antique character. Later brass pulls. The photos finish the description.
Delivered cleaned, waxed, with hand rubbed polished patina, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!
