Peruvian hardwood box with pre-Columbian textile mounted under a glass frame and secured with a hammered sterling silver trim. The textile is a woven fragment and dates to the pre-Columbian timeframe. The box is carved from a single block of wood and has no seams. Most likely made from Cumarú, a Brazilian hardwood, and created mid century.
This (and the other Peruvian box we have listed) comes from a collector's estate that featured many pre-Columbian weavings and pottery pieces.
Silver is hallmarked 925.
