This set of six vintage mid century French modern "Traineau" (Sled) side chairs designed by Emile & Walter Baumann for Baumann were made in France circa 1970. The elegant design pairs Scandinavian modern influences with traditional French craftsmanship. The white ash bentwood backrest and beech wood "sled-shaped" base give the chairs a distinctive profile and the cane seats add a reference to tradition. These unique and timeless vintage chairs pair well with a wide range of decor from rustic farmhouse and cottagecore to mid-century modern; perfect as dining chairs, side chairs or accent chairs.
CONDITION
Very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use including minor fading, scuffs, and marks to caned seats expected with normal use over time. No visible breaks or damage to cane.
