This is a classic style Chinese Export covered jar/box with alternating panels of a scene on steps and a botanical and symbolic collage and would be perfect for holding tea, ginger or many other small items or just as a shelf decoration. It is marked on the bottom but I think it is a faux stamp to make the piece seem older than it is.
The top is slightly domed, the height to the very top is 6 1/2 inches and the diameter is 5 1/4 inches.
