Very pretty Japanese 4-panel painted Byobu (folding screen) with Chrysanthemums on silver background. Signed and sealed by artist. Watercolor and ink on silver foil over paper. Blue and gold silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners, plaques, and medallions, showing age patina. Paper and two brass hangers on back. This screen most likely had one owner in the past. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1970s. Very Good condition - minor age wear overall, water marks on paint, no damage to paper back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
