The Fifteenth Station: Kambara. In the title block: "Snowy Night". Against the background of a dark sky, snowflakes fall gently. On the right, two farmers, one carrying a cylindrical lantern called "odawara chochin", the other in a straw coat carries a bottle of sake. On the left is a lingering traveler, perched on high wooden sandals and holding a half-open umbrella, so that the weight of the snow does not break it, tries to reach an inn. The original print is considered one of the masterpieces of the series.

The screen is signed and sealed by artist in ink. Watercolor, gouache and ink on silk. Silk border. Lacquered brown wood frame with engraved copper corners and medallions, showing age patina. Paper and original label on back. Detailed. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1970-1980s. Very Good condition - no damage to the painting nor back, minor age wear overall, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
