An exquisite multi-figured porcelain figurine of a Shepherd, Shepherdess, and their dogs and sheep. Beautifully hand-painted and in excellent condition. During the 18th and 19th centuries Meissen produced numerous pastoral and allegorical figure groups, often in the rococo style. These pieces, depicting shepherds and shepherdesses were highly sought after by European aristocracy and collectors because they depicted scenes of daily life.
The figurine stands 16" tall and is about 11" wide. It weighs 12.78 lbs.
