In the … Read more This lovely vase, with its intense, glossy, and striking brown glaze, is a product of the Accolay potters. In the mid-20th century, Accolay was the cradle of a true revolution in ceramics. Four former students of Alexandre Kostanda settled in this small village in the Yonne region in the mid-1940s, and many potters followed their example. For about forty years, the Accolay potters produced impressive, original, and daring work.

The vase is superbly glazed. Its brown glaze is deep and very glossy. It is signed in relief “Accolay.” The vase is in very good condition; a few very light scratches are visible depending on the light, as seen in the photos.
