This vintage Chal rug features a striking geometric composition with bold medallions and a vibrant, warm color palette. Its hand-knotted wool texture and petite size make it an ideal artisanal accent for modern or bohemian interiors.
Hailing from the Chal district in Denizli, located in Turkey's Aegean region, these rugs are celebrated for their distinctive tribal motifs and lively use of color. Traditionally woven by village artisans, they reflect the rich pastoral heritage of Southwestern Anatolia. ◆ What Is a Turkish Rug?: A Turkish rug is a hand-knotted masterpiece, crafted using the symmetrical 'Ghiordes' knot—a double-knot technique unique to the Anatolian weaving tradition. These authentic vintage textiles are made from 100% natural wool and organic vegetable dyes, ensuring durability and a rich, soulful character that machine-made rugs cannot replicate. Each rug tells a story through ancient geometric symbols and tribal motifs, bringing timeless heritage and artisanal warmth to modern interior designs.
