About the poster: This poster is an advertisement for an art exhibition titled "Le Style et L'Auto" (Style and the Automobile) at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. This exhibition highlighted the intersection of art, style and automotive design, and this advertisement features a photograph of the BMW 327 Sport Coupe.
The BMW 327 was produced between 1937 and 1941, and was one of BMW’s earliest and most elegant coupes. Built on the same chassis as the 326 sedan, it featured a sleek, aerodynamic body and a 2.0-liter inline-six engine that delivered both refinement and speed—up to 125 km/h (78 mph). Its graceful curves and flowing fenders made it a design icon of prewar Germany, while its blend of luxury and performance helped establish BMW’s reputation for sporty yet sophisticated cars. Today, the 327 is celebrated as a cornerstone in BMW’s history and a precursor to the brand’s later grand touring coupes.
