A stunning architectural vessel by noted Hudson Valley ceramicist Nancy April. This piece is a beautiful contemporary evolution of her early 1980s work, featuring her signature hand-carved organic patterns.
The vase utilizes a sophisticated terra sigillata slip that is burnished to a soft, silky luster, then fired with metallic oxides to achieve the high-contrast, copper-flashed look of traditional raku. It is a substantial "seed pot" form that perfectly captures a Post-Modern, organic aesthetic.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Signed "April" on the base.
