A ceramic candlestick holder designed by Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006). In the shape of a centaur, this whimsical candlestick holder is white and adorned with dark blue feathery details. The centaur wears a timid expression on his face, hands clutching his chest. The underside of the candlestick holder is marked.
Bjørn Wiinblad was born in Denmark but has been praised worldwide for his designs. He attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Wiinblad was named Man of the Year in New York in 1985 and was awarded the American-Scandinavian Foundation's Cultural Prize of 1995.
