This highly sought after vintage Pfaltzgraff orange pottery vase, produced in the 1940s early 50s. Beautiful striated orange matte glaze covers the body of the vessel. Its design consists of circular base decorated with leaves suporting a bulbous center ending in a flaring top. Magnificent glazing !
The Pfaltzgraff Pottery was started in York County, Pennsylvania by Johann George Pfaltzgraff and his sons in 1811. The Pfaltzgraff family had emigrated from Germany in early 1800s and continued with their trade of producing pottery items, mostly utilitarian wares at first.
Measurements: 7 inches diameter at its widest point - 5 inches diameter top - 12 1/4 inches high
