Magnificent and exclusive cobalt blue “Royal Blue” Moser vase from the Czech Republic, made in the second half of the 20th century.
Moser glassware is known worldwide as the “crystal of kings” due to its historical relationship as the exclusive supplier to various royal courts and elites (such as Emperor Franz Joseph I and King Edward VII).
This cylindrical vase is a testament to the craftsmanship of Karlovy Vary, notable for its iconic Royal Blue color, a deep and vibrant shade that only Moser achieves with such purity. The technique used is mouth-blown glass engraved by hand with a copper lathe.
The piece features an exquisite hand-carved botanical engraving, depicting ears of corn, wild herbs, and birds, with astonishing technical delicacy. Unlike other glassmakers, Moser uses a lead-free glass formula, which allows for much sharper engravings and unique light refraction, while also respecting the company's ecological tradition.
The faceted base is engraved with Moser's distinctive seal.
