Circa 1790, this original period piece was crafted during the height of the Neoclassical movement, when Italian artisans were deeply influenced by the revival of classical antiquity.
Constructed from walnut with a warm, naturally aged patina, the case is raised on elegantly turned and tapered legs and fitted with original brass hardware. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition, this commode reflects the era’s shift away from Rococo curves in favor of straight lines and classical motifs inspired by the discoveries of the Grand Tour.
