A refined and authentic set of four antique American pewter tumblers by the Boston maker W I Cowlishaw, active 1890-1930.
Each tumbler features a classic, slightly flared cylindrical form with a weighted base and bears the original Cowlishaw shield touchmark on the underside. Originally produced as drinking tumblers, these pieces are today most often displayed as decorative objects or styled as sculptural accents and bud vases in traditional, coastal, and transitional interiors.
The pewter has developed a beautifully aged, natural patina with subtle tonal variation consistent with age and use. All four pieces are closely matched in size and form, making them ideal for use as a cohesive set on open shelving, a bar display, a mantel, or a console table.
