The Virgin wears a golden tunic with a blue and red mantle, characterized by its sober and elegant lines. The Child, naked and holding an orb, symbolizes the universal sovereignty of Christ. The carving, 55 cm tall excluding the crown, retains much of its original polychromy with gilding, showing later restorations. Its frontality and the simplicity of its forms suggest an origin between the late Gothic and early Hispanic Baroque periods, in the 16th-17th centuries.
