The Virgin is depicted crowned, wearing a richly decorated mantle with floral and gilded motifs, holding the Christ Child who blesses with his right hand and holds the orb in his left. At the base is a cherub, a symbol of heavenly protection. The vibrant polychromy in shades of blue, red, and gold is characteristic of colonial productions, which sought to convey both intimacy and majesty. This piece is of great devotional and artistic value, highly representative of viceregal religious imagery. Tails 70 cm, 27 cm wide, 97 cm with crown and base See less
