The design reflects the artist’s lifelong fascination with movement, light, and structure. Albert in ’t Veld began his career as a dancer before studying visual arts and architecture in Seattle. Returning to the Netherlands, he developed a distinctive practice combining steel and neon light in his art.

The chair’s open frame and architectural clarity reveal his background in both visual arts and architecture, while its tactile surface carries the trace of the hand that made it - in between art and design - a dialogue of steel, space, and light.

The chair is in very good condition, very heavy and solid. It can be placed as an accent piece but it is also perfectly usable as a chair.

Albert in ’t Veld's three-dimensional works, ranging from public sculptures to furniture and interior pieces, blur the boundaries between art and design. In his steel furniture and neon objects, industrial materials become expressive, almost musical forms - rhythm captured in metal and light.
Alongside his artistic work, Albert has been deeply committed to strengthening the position of artists within society. As longtime chairman — and now honorary member - of Arti et Industriae, the Dutch association for visual artists, he advocated for closer collaboration between artists, industry, and entrepreneurs. For this dedication, he was awarded the title of Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix in 2007.
